Event concept convinces over 7,000 visitors

25 May 2016

The second "World of Material Handling" ended May, 25th 2016 with a new record number of visitors: Over 7,000 guests from about 50 countries, mainly customers as well as distributors, business partners and employees, attended Linde Material Handling’s showcase event, staged from 9 to 25 May. Thus the number of visitors exceeded that of 2014 significantly by around 15 percent.

The disused factory site “Fredenhagen” nearby Frankfurt airport and modern lightweight halls provided the setting for a comprehensive look at the future of intralogistics.

Individual guided tours and presentations, live demonstrations, and plenty of “touch & feel” around the future issues of Connectivity, Automation, Energy Systems and Individualisation made for a comprehensive technical program that was tailored to different visitor interests.

18 partner companies ensured that visitors, in addition to learning about numerous new hardware and software solutions for industrial trucks, had the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in adjacent areas, too.

“Our customers were thrilled with the new solutions on offer. Their feedback confirms that we are focussing on just the right future issues,” said Christophe Lautray, CSO of Linde Material Handling, on the last day of the event. “Many customers are challenged to use the opportunities of increasing connectivity and digitisation for their materials handling tasks. We were able to present ourselves as a partner who perfectly understands these challenges and is therefore up to developing, offering and adjusting forward-looking solutions for a variety of industrial segments. At the same time, it was obvious that the open and frank talks with our customers are based on long-term, reliable and cooperative relationships. The enthusiasm and motivation of the Linde team to achieve the best performance for every customer has been highly commended by our guests.”

As a result, various major international customers placed orders there and then at the exhibition, adding up to a volume of several hundred units. This also included, for example, a large-scale order for 150 electric forklift trucks of type Linde E30. These trucks will be used by a French building materials supplier who relies on the power, efficiency and availability of Linde equipment as well as on the excellent quality of relationships and trusting collaboration with the regional distribution partners.

“We want to help our customers to reduce their process costs, optimise throughput times and improve process quality. This requires an intensive, ongoing dialogue in order to develop and offer precisely the right products, services and solutions. The World of Material Handling makes a valuable contribution in this context because it concentrates all the latest from Linde Material Handling, offering our customers a chance to gain solid information during their visit and talk with us about their future requirements. This is crucial input for us,” said Andreas Krinninger, Chairman of the Board of Management Linde Material Handling GmbH and President Linde Material Handling EMEA, in conclusion.
