History
The roots of Linde Material Handling date back to the beginning of the 20th century. Together with Hugo Güldner and Georg von Krauss, Carl von Linde founded the Güldner-Motoren-Gesellschaft in Munich in 1904. Three years later the company moved to Aschaffenburg. In 1929, the Gesellschaft für Linde's Eismaschinen AG, founded by Carl von Linde in 1879, took over the Güldner-Motoren-Gesellschaft. In 1955, the development of the first vehicle with a hydrostatic drive and, in 1960, the development of the first truck with this drive concept, laid the foundation for Linde's rise to become one of the world's largest manufacturers of forklift trucks and warehouse equipment. March 2024
Linde Material Handling celebrates its 50th anniversary in Sweden. What began in 1974 with three electric forklift trucks has developed into a success story: with over 500 employees, five regional offices, and more than 20 service workshops, Linde MH is now one of the leading suppliers of industrial trucks and intralogistics solutions on the Swedish market.

2023
The company's headquarter in Aschaffenburg is expanding: in addition to the main building, a new six-storey office complex complements the site. The new building provides modern workspaces and unites the team, who were previously located across the city, in one place. Another new addition to the headquarter is the 5,500-square-metre Linde Experience Hub. This multifunctional showroom is designed for training courses, product presentations and events, and offers customers exclusive insights into Linde Material Handling's solutions and innovations.

June 2022
With the introduction of Linde Steer Control at World of Material Handling, Linde MH is revolutionizing forklift truck control. The innovative steering concept allows the truck to be controlled with just one hand using a mini wheel or joystick. This makes the classic steering wheel redundant. A study conducted in collaboration with RWTH Aachen University and fka GmbH confirms the ergonomic advantages of Linde Steer Control: it significantly reduces strain on the driver and thus also increases their performance.

May 2022
Linde Material Handling is expanding its portfolio with a new range of electric heavy-duty forklift trucks with a load capacity of 10 to 18 tons. The twelve models, from the E100 to the E180, are the most powerful in their class and combine performance with sustainability. In addition to different load centers, the trucks also offer two battery system options: lead-acid and lithium-ion. Thanks to the plug-and-play principle, it is possible to switch between the two battery types without making any changes to the vehicle.

June 2021
Linde Material Handling celebrates 50 years of electric forklift trucks. Since the presentation of the first models in Hanover in 1971, the company has played a key role in driving forward developments in this area. To mark the anniversary, Linde MH is launching the X models as an extension of the 12XX series. The new X20 – X35 electric forklift trucks combine the performance of IC engine-powered trucks with zero emissions. This makes them the first electric forklift trucks that are on a par with a combustion engine. Thanks to the efficient platform concept introduced in 2019 and many components of the same shape, the X trucks score points with short delivery times. The standardised operating concept also makes it easier for drivers to switch over. With this innovation, Linde MH is once again emphasising its pioneering role in electromobility for industrial trucks.

April 2021
The millionth counterbalanced forklift truck rolls off the production line at the Aschaffenburg plant, marking a significant milestone in the company's history. The anniversary vehicle, a 3.5-ton diesel forklift truck of the latest generation, is delivered to long-standing Spanish customer Colorobbia España S.A. and celebrated with fireworks and cake.

2020
In light of the global COVID-19 pandemic, Linde Material Handling is using its expertise in safety technology to develop two innovative solutions to protect against infection: the Linde Secure Distance Vest and the Linde Distance Beeper. The smart wearables are based on the ultra-wideband technology of the Linde Safety Guard. They warn employees acoustically, visually and haptically as soon as the prescribed safety distance is exceeded. Without additional infrastructure, they offer reliable protection against infection in the workplace and help to maintain operational processes.

2019
Linde MH presents the 1202 series, the first generation of the innovative 12XX series. The new H20 – H35 models are designed for demanding tasks in multi-shift operation and set new standards in performance, ergonomics, safety, and connectivity. With this series, Linde Material Handling is setting a technological milestone: the structural separation of electric and internal combustion engine forklift trucks is being replaced by a uniform platform concept. This allows customers to choose flexibly between different drive types without having to compromise on performance. The development is based on comprehensive market studies and direct customer feedback.

2018
With the new Linde Safety Guard assistance system, Linde MH is optimizing existing safety standards. The system warns pedestrians and drivers at an early stage acoustically, optically, and with vibrations – even through walls and doors. The Safety Guard is part of the comprehensive safety concept "Vision Zero. Safety in your World", through which Linde MH aims to cut the number of accidents at work to zero.

2017
Linde MH celebrates the production of the 111,111th 386 series electric forklift truck. The E12 to E20 trucks were launched in 2006. Its unmatched versatility and reliability make it the best-selling electric forklift of its kind and the most successful in the world.

2016
Linde Material Handling is opening its new headquarters in Aschaffenburg at a historic location. Over a period of 17 months, the building on Carl-von-Linde-Platz, which originally dates back to the 1950s, was completely gutted and redesigned based on a modern spatial concept.

2015
With the L-MATIC L HP high-platform truck and the P-MATIC tractor, Linde MH introduces automated industrial trucks for the first time. They are suitable for a wide range of applications in storage and transport. The vehicles can be controlled via warehouse management and ERP systems.

The electronic assistance system supports drivers and helps them to avoid dangerous situations.

2011
With the E20 – E50 forklift series, Linde Material Handling becomes the market leader in Europe for electric trucks. The electric kart E1, which Linde MH developed on the basis of original components of this series, sets a world record for electrically driven karts – accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in only 3.45 seconds, driving directly into the Guinness Book of World Records.

2009
Linde Material Handling presents prototypes with alternative drives such as fuel cells or hybrid systems consisting of fuel cells and lithium-ion batteries for the first time. Since 2010, Linde MH has been the first industrial truck manufacturer in Europe to offer fuel cell trucks in series production.

The final competition at the Schlossplatz in Aschaffenburg regularly draws more than 10,000 spectators every year. “StaplerCup hilft e.V.”, a charity club founded in 2008, donates the proceeds of various projects to charity - more than 200,000 euros have been donated since the club was founded.

By 2001, 100,000 trucks of the series have been assembled in Aschaffenburg, making the 351 the most successful truck in Europe, paving Linde's way to market leadership for forklift trucks with internal combustion engines.
